Dog-Friendly Patios? A Winnipeg Favourite!
Looking for a dog-friendly patio in Winnipeg? Anyone who has experienced Winnipeg in the summer knows that hitting up a patio on a hot summer’s day is one of our favourite summer pastimes. Of course, you don’t want your pup to miss out on the fun and now they don’t have to. That’s right! Winnipeg is home to many dog-friendly patios so the only tough part will be choosing which patio you and your dog want to patronize.

They are building community while building a company. A brand that has become a Manitoba staple. Little Brown Jug boasts a patio that is so dog-friendly that they put down Astroturf that pets can lie down on. T
The Forks Market
Address: 1 Forks Market Rd
The Forks is a historic site, meeting place, and green space in downtown Winnipeg located at the confluence of the Red River and the Assiniboine River. The Common is the big open-air patio found at The Forks. The Common has a friendly staff and serves up a great selection of wine and beer.
Address: 4 Locations, 3 are Dog Friendly (Academy, Bridgewater, & Henderson)
Leopold’s Tavern currently has 4 locations of which 3 have dog-friendly patios (Academy, Bridgwater and Henderson). With great choices of local beer on tap and great comfort food, it is sure to be a great spot to bring your pup in for those sunny days!
Sub Zero Ice Cream

Sub Zero Ice Cream is open from April to November and has many four-legged friends who return often to enjoy a K9 CONE on their dog-friendly patio. The K9 CONE is a mini vanilla ice-cream cone with a Milk-bone dog treat. They offer more than 80 parfaits, milkshakes, flurries, sundaes, and hard ice cream.
Brazen Hall Kitchen & Brewery
Address: 800 Pembina Highway
Your pup is welcome to join you at a picnic table on the outdoor patio where shade is provided by large umbrellas. Brazen Hall has a passion for bold, locally inspired food and diverse brewing styles at their modern, casual kitchen and brewery.
Chaise Cafe & Lounge
Address: 271 Provencher Blvd
Bring your dog and dine on the shaded patio. Chaise Cafe & Lounge is a warm and casual eatery offering fixed-price Italian meals served family-style.

A dog-friendly Corydon hot spot with food options like wings, burgers, sandwiches & wraps, tacos, salads and more. Bar Italia also serves a variety of cocktails, wine and coffee drinks.
Nonsuch Brewing Co.
Address: 125 Pacific Avenue
Nonsuch Brewing Co. is a pet-friendly brewery and restaurant. This establishment “only allows dogs if they’re 100% cute,” but would also like to point out that they think all dogs are cute. Pups aren’t just permitted at this popular Winnipeg brewery; they’re encouraged to attend.

This dog-friendly patio strives to create an inclusive, respectful, and accessible space that is welcoming to all. They hold nightly events and have a vast selection of beer and other drinks. They also serve sandwiches, tots, and salads.
Fête Ice Cream & Coffee
Address: 300 Assiniboine Ave.
Fête Ice Cream & Coffee offers made-from-scratch premium ice creams and Canadian-roasted coffee all day. Plus, they are next to Bonnycastle Dog Park. Go for the ice cream & coffee while watching the pups run around.
Address: 1180 Grant Ave.
Enjoy Irish-style food on the dog-friendly covered patio. Fionn’s offers a vast menu with a great selection of cocktails and beers. Located in the parking lot at Grant Park Mall.
Carnaval Brazilian BBQ
Address: 270 Waterfront Drive
Enjoy authentic Brazilian Rodizio BBQ, as well as a delicious dessert or cocktail. Meanwhile, your pup will get to have a delicious doggie ice cream!
Address: 531 St Mary’s Road
Treat yourself to enticing dishes and handcrafted cocktails. This dog-friendly patio is open on Friday and Saturday.
Hermanos South American Steakhouse
Address: 179 Bannatyne Ave.
Located in the Exchange District, Hermano’s offers up South American-style food including steaks, chicken, vegetarian, pasta, and seafood, as well as spirits and cocktails.
Dug & Betty’s Ice Creamery & Café
Address: 309 Des Meurons St.
Since its launch in 2019, Dug & Betty’s Ice Creamery has been establishing itself as one of Winnipeg’s latest culinary hot spots. Here you will find tantalizing small-batch gourmet ice cream creations such as Strawberry Honey Balsamic Pepper, Sour Cherry with Dark Chocolate, Coconut Chocolate Fudge Oreo, Ube, and Matcha.

Located by the duck pond in Assiniboine Park, Cargo Bar is a Pop-up beverage experience built out of a shipping container. Bring your dog and enjoy a drink in the most beautiful of settings.

Milksmith is a trendy Corydon hot spot serving up rolled ice cream, creative drinks, and other yummy sweet treats with a bunch of fun mix-ins.
Corrientes Argentine Pizzeria
Address: 137 Bannatyne Ave
This dog-friendly patio makes traditional Argentinian pasta, including gnocchi, ravioli, and much more. They serve their pasta with a variety of in-house sauces made with local and fresh ingredients. Of course, they also have amazing pizzas. They serve locally sourced and organic food.
One Great City Brewing Company
Address: 1596 Ness Ave.
Bringing great food and great beer to its customers, One Great City Brewing offers a wide variety of craft beer made in-house. Paired with hand-crafted food using local ingredients, and well-crafted cocktails, this brewpub has something for everybody. At the time of writing, One Great City Brewing only allowed dogs on their patio on Sundays.
Preservation Hall Eatery + Wine Bar

A pet-friendly dining experience serving up creative farm-to-table delights like bison meatloaf pulled jackfruit, and more.

King’s Head Pub

Situated in the heart of Corydon, Saffrons offers a dog-friendly patio where you can enjoy Mediterranean fare, such as wraps & pizza, plus drinks. At the time of writing, Saffron’s only allowed small dogs.
Silver Heights Restaurant and Lounge

Located in the heart of St. James, The Silver Heights Restaurant & Lounge is an institution in Winnipeg. Winner of the Best Barbeque Ribs In Town since 1957, the Heights is Winnipeg’s longest-running family restaurant.

The Frenchway is a delightful local bakery with a dog-friendly patio that serves an all-day French breakfast with crepes, plus salads & sandwiches. They offer a fantastic selection of daily fresh baked goods made with the finest quality ingredients.
King and Bannatyne
Address: 100 King St Unit D
King & Bannatyne, the sandwich shop on the corner. In the heart of Winnipeg’s Exchange District, King & Bannatyne serve up hand-crafted sandwiches in a fast-casual environment with a full-service experience.
With so many fantastic dog-friendly patios in Winnipeg, it will be tricky to choose which one you want to go to. My advice is to try and fit in as many patios as you can this summer. You and your furry friend will have so much fun bonding and making memories together.
