Dog-Friendly Patios? A Winnipeg Favourite!
Anyone who has experienced Winnipeg in the summer knows that hitting up a patio on a hot summer’s day is one of our favourite summer pastimes. Of course, you don’t want your pup to miss out on the fun and now they don’t have to. That’s right! Winnipeg is home to many dog-friendly patios so the only tough part will be choosing which patio you and your dog want to patronize.
To help you out, I am creating a list (in no particular order) of some of the best DOG-FRIENDLY patios Winnipeg has to offer. Be sure to check back often as I add to the list.
1. Little Brown Jug

Little Brown Jug brews flavourful and balanced brews in the exchange district in Winnipeg. With the values of Honesty, Community & Quality informing everything they do, they are building community while building a company. A brand that has become a Manitoba staple.
2. The Forks Market

The Forks is a historic site, meeting place, and green space in downtown Winnipeg located at the confluence of the Red River and the Assiniboine River. The Common is the big open-air patio found at The Forks. The Common has a friendly staff and serves up a great selection of wine and beer.
3. Leopold’s Tavern

Leopoldβs Tavern currently has 4 locations of which 3 have dog-friendly patios (Academy, Bridgwater and Henderson). With great choices of local beer on tap and great comfort food, it is sure to be a great spot to bring your pup in for those sunny days!
4. Sub Zero Ice Cream

Sub Zero Ice Cream is open from April to November and has many four-legged friends who return often to enjoy a K9 CONE on their dog-friendly patio. The K9 CONE is a mini vanilla ice-cream cone with a Milk-bone dog treat. Dog owners are encouraged to try their parfaits which is what sets them apart and makes them unique. Their parfaits are layered vanilla soft-serve with a combination of many toppings. There are more than 80 parfaits on the menu! They also have milkshakes, flurries, sundaes, and hard ice cream.
